The best thing we can say about the organising of our holiday requirements is your attention to detail leaves nothing to be desired and how lucky we were to have met your Mother & Father in Fiji in 1997 and have been doing business with you since.

Have recently returned from an incredible trip to Antarctica on Scenic’s amazing new ship the Scenic Eclipse. As this was one of those once in a lifetime experiences I couldn’t let the opportunity pass without expressing my thanks and appreciation to Allana Hancock and her team at itravel Forster. Planning for the trip started nearly 5 years ago and after a couple of false starts we finally got to embark on this unbelievable journey in December.

It was, in the main, through Allana’s enthusiasm and love of what she does that kept us motivated to do this trip and for that I can’t thank her enough. We have now have been lucky enough to have had itravel book us on several trips over the last few years and would not consider booking through any other Agency.

Earlier this year, I had the extraordinary opportunity to travel to the east coast of Antarctica aboard the Scenic Eclipse II—a true bucket list experience. WHY BOOKING THROUGH A TRAVEL AGENT IS A NO BRAINER.

My wife and I have travelled extensively over the past 25 years, mostly having booked through our Travel Agent and during these times of course things sometimes do not always go as planned.

We have had several instances where our travel agency have sorted out problems that can be serious situations, especially re flights etc when you are thousands of kilometres from home.

Our most recent situation was in June this year, when we were due to fly home from Turkmenistan but the conflict between Israel and Iran changed all of our pre plans.

Without the assistance and support from Allana at iTravel Forster we have no idea how bad a situation could have resulted for us, as all flights and airspace through Dubai and Emirates Airlines were cancelled.

Turkmenistan only allowed us our visa until midnight on the 17 june and after making enquiries we were told no extension was possible and the nearest Australian Embassy was in Russia.

Turkmenistan only deals in cash, no credit cards and no ATMs.

No access to Wi Fi for us at Airport.

Only 2 Airlines had very limited flights available.

Most difficult to find people who speak English.

Result - if Allana had not sat up all night in Australia, making calls between us and our interpretor, plus she financed our flight until we were able to reimburse iTravel when back home and also liaised with our very concerned family members, we have no idea and do not even want to think what might have eventuated, but due to having partnered with iTravel Forster and owner Allana's professional actions and willingness to go way beyond usual expectations, we have a happy ending to this story.

If people think they could have achieved this result on their own because they thought they were saving money, we suggest they change their minds because this is only one instance of many that could and will occur when you travel.
